California SB100

Today, I completed the California DMV registration process under SB100. License plate and registration in hand. Was and interesting journey through the rules and regulations in the state way out left. For others on the same path my advise is to approach the California DMV with the mind set of Jacques Cousteau exploring an uncharted island inhabited by a tribe that knows nothing of the post stone age civilization The rest was slow but pretty easy.
I will be meeting with SB100 author, Senator Maurice Johnannessen, on another issue next week. Cobra enthusiasts in California owe a big thank you to Maurice. I would be happy to hand deliver any other thanks to him if you want to email to me.
Thanks to Club Cobra members for your advice and support. I am now on the road and legal.

Congrats and condolences

Congrats for getting your car past the stone age maze of witchdoctors masquerading as CA public servants !:p

Condolences for having to actually look at them, and smell them !

The big government and oppressive laws there were a major reason my wife and I left the land of our birth, (CA) in 1991

To repeat, in WA state, no vehicle inspection, just pay and go...if you live in one of the few counties where there is smog testing, you simply want to get your car registered as a 1960s ford or cobra, and then there is no testing...I hear it's just a matter of having your Point of Origin papers to state this.

In my area, there likely never will be smog testing....ocean air and low population density are the factors there. That is unless the big brother feds add more envioro whacko laws on top of the other truckload of hogwash they call *federal regulations*

OK, thru ranting :3DSMILE:

Again, it's great to hear you guys got a small break with 101 ....keep pushing for more exemptions and such,....or the whackos there will roll back your advances in no time. %/

Lumber,

What did it cost you to register the car????????

What "Make" is it registered as????????

What "year" is it registered as??????????

Glad to hear you made it. Must be a great sense of relief.

Regards,

John
