National Street Rod Association-? http://www.legis.state.il.us/publica...s/92-0668.html This new law requires a form to be filled out by the NSRA that will provided by the Secretary of State. I checked the website of the NSRA and found no regional info. Do any of you have any regional info? GS |

Just a very cursory glance of the above bill and I think it is simply AMAZING! Who ever wrote that up, and got it through the entire legislation process deserves a big. "Thank You"! I printed out the entire 15 pages. Once it is scoured, disected, made to fit our State laws, and if it does what I think it does, I'm headed to Columbus! (State capitol for those that thought Columbus was only for the Fling! :) ) DV....might change my mind after going through all 15 pages, but this looks good~ |

I've read it at least 3 times and I hope i understand it... This is the part I like "Provides that an application for a certificate of title for a custom vehicle or a street rod must contain the model year that the body of the vehicle resembles." But they need a safety check by NSRA. I got to see if I can find a local chapter. Good luck on getting the law passed. GS |

Gotsnake, An NSRA inspection is a a piece of cake. Almost totally dedicated to "streetrods" and not Cobras. Looks like some changes in the NSRA 24 "rules" are in order. It was 23 for years then they just added 24. (At least they were going to add one a few years ago.) Rule #24 is: Third center mounted brake light. Do not fear! One of the new streetrod license plate brackets has a LED brake light built in at the top. Will fit on any Cobra with ease. DV...It's all about safety |

The centre mounted brake light has been law in Oz for years, there are actually some very slim lights available that a lot of our cobras have. Once they are colour coded to your car with the stripes painted over them, you cannot even notice that they are there. They are only about an inch high. |

Andy, We started putting in the LED 3rd brake lights in our '34 Fords about 4 years ago. We installed them flush with the body, right under the rear window. You're right, done right, you probably wouldn't notice them in a direct close up picture unless they were on! But, where are you putting them in a cobra? DV |

Of course the Excalibur Cobras came with the third eye. Never bothered me. I kinda liked the idea others could see I'm stopping here! Ernie |

the GN VENOM has one on the trunk lid. "Chevy Van 3rd. brake light." http://www.casperselectronics.com/cobra.htm Or maybe right behind the trunk lid. I think i see it in one of the pics. GS |

How many of these Cobras can pass the scrub line test? |
|
Mr. Bruce...that is the tough one, but they all should! I don't know of any that have the master cylinder or the booster mounted lower than the driveline datum line??? The rest of the parts, exhaust, oil pans, etc., should be irrelevant. DV |
