Cobra Snow Plow Attachments & Lighting
Here in Chicagoland...
While plowing snow with my Cobra, Should I be using "driving lights" or "fog lights"... I checked with Cibie & Lucas and neither still make "Snow Lights" And I still cam't figure out how to attach the salt spreader... Suggestions? |

Blas, I really can't even imagine that you would consider plowing snow with your cobra. I bet that your cobra has not seen the light of day let alone snow since the last meet @ Hooters.
But for your information I could'nt get the big western plow to mount on my cobra, but I had no problem attaching my snow blade from my riding tractor to the car. I had a difficult time with traction untill I mounted the wheel weights. I was surprised how easy they were to install with the spinner hubs. I didn't bother with the lights 'cause I don't want to attract any attention. If my neighbors see me doing it they may think I'm nuts or something, plowing my driveway with my cobra. Or worse they may ask me to plow thiers too! |
I don't know why you guys are wasting your time with snow plow attachments and lights. I took my cobra out and was doing burn outs in the driveway and melted the snow that way. I must admitt I probably burned more gas than you guys, not very ecology friendly. Laura says, "Light'em up!"

Mark your method definitly sounds like more fun but when I cleard my driveway that way I had a real problem with the melted snow refreezing and making it too slippery for my wife to get her car out to get to work. That's why I switched to the plowing method. I can't have her hanging around the house all day!

Wolfe you make an excellent point about the snow refreezing after doing burnouts. What I find works bests to counter act the refreezing problem is to hand a snow shovel to the wife to have her push the slush off to the side of the driveway between getting me another beer. This way the driveway is clear and there is no excuse for not making it to work to bring home the bacon. In addition, from past experience I have learned that sometimes you have to do burnouts in the afternoon so the driveway is clear when she gets home to fix dinner. You know what I mean!

if your plowing with the Cobra, your doing it all wrong from the start, what you need is the "cobrapromotions" patented side pipe deflectors so that you can clear your driveway just like the nascar boys do with their truck mounted jet engines. Be sure to get the V-Shaped blade that has the point out front and the snow goes off to both sides. It doesn't pile up so fast in front of the blade. As for lights, a temporary light bar on top of the roll bar or any place you can mount it with flashing lights would be ok. For salt spreader, use a lawn seed spreader and just tow it down your driveway. Talk to Turlarian. He has this snow removal thing down to an art. :LOL: :LOL: Ron :D |

I just cut and rewelded the my exhaust tips so they are pointing down at about 30 degrees and then use the car as a snow blower. Two passes and I'm through. True story: Have a birch tree next to the driveway and it drops a ton of little leaves in the fall. Driveway was completely covered in them one morning when I backed the Cobra out. When I got to the street and looked back up the driveway to check that the garage door had closed saw two cleared paths the width of the car apart leading back up the drive. DonC |
You guys are all freakin geniouses! I can't believe that I am so archaic, you guys have such great ideas and solutions to problems. You must keep in mind though that I have only owned my car for a six week driving period and haven't had a chance to have the exhaust fumes work on my brain cells yet like you veterans have had. But absolutely great ideas. I'm going out into the garage right now with my welder and make some modification to my car. I hope to finish before mother nature melts all the snow away!

So THATS what those funny lookin little brackets stickin outta the front of the car are for! But how 'bout the ones in the back? Maybe for carrying the grass catcher bag in summer???? :p

The back ones are for hitching up the bass boat trailer.....and the garden tiller attachment...
