Chi-Town Kruze

I know a few of the club members had an interest in this event...Saturday, June 4....Chicago Lake Shore Drive....What is the plan?

I'm interested. I don't know yet if I can make it.

Here's the info:

8am - registration opens
8 to10 - Kruze
11 to 3 - Car Show

"The participating cars will create a loop from Wilson to 31st Street as they drive alongside local traffic showcasing their nostalgia. The cars will then gather after the cruise at Soldier Field for an awesome Collector Car Show perfect for the entire family. While the Kruze is free and open to all road-approved vehicles, there is a $20 registration fee to participate in the show at Soldier Field..."

I'll be there sans Cobra...I broke it again

I plan on doing the cruise on Saturday but not the show. I broke my cobra again so it's in the shop so I will be driving my T-Bucket. Wife and son will be watching on Columbus.

I am hoping to have the Cobra on the road sometime next week. I had a radiator built by Rex Radiator here in Chicago, but had a problem with the electric fans and it overheated. It blew off the lower radiator hose and sent all of its antifreeze all over my garage.

I decided to add a 16" puller fan with my pusher fans, change to the Torker II intake manifold so that I could add clearance for a Cobra oval air cleaner and also rebuild the Holley 850 carb.

I think its official....the cobra has spent more time up on jack stands than on the ground since i owned it.

I hope to see some of you on Saturday!!!

Have you checked your fan blade rotations?
Spinning the wrong direction can worsen a heating problem.

Overheating

Wasn't the fan rotation, when i mounted the fans, becuase of the new size radiator, the fans were sitting about 1/2" from the core. Since its a pusher, it wasn't able to push air through the rad but it was blowing air around the entire core instead...thus...it overheated....

I am going to leave the pusher fans on it, but I added a 16" puller behind the rad to aid in cooling....hopefully it works, I havent had a chance to see if it does.

So, so far it looks like Bob is going to the Kruze and the static display.
And Ever is Kruzing with his T-bucket.
I might go and would love to connect with other WCCC folks but I won't have access to the website after 5:15 or so this evening.
I'll only be reachable by cell phone.
Anyone else going?
