Mike, I don't want to be a wise guy or anything, like Ralph, Jefko,Arcie, or Richie and all the others but I think you made a miss calculation when you said
"When I factor all of those percentages I come up with a chace of tomorrow being a successful outing @ 0.000975% I believe that the correct figure should read 0.0000975% If you would look at the jet stream and where the center of the low preasure is hovering it is pretty clear. ATTENTION ALL COBRA RACERS!!!!!!!!!
We have a major problem with schedueling if the race does not go down tommorrow. The 20th does not work as that is the day of the St. Charles High School car show in which Alex has requested our partisipation. Knowing how most of the members would rather show thier cars than drive them at break neck speeds in a controlled enviornment I think we are going to have a problem. I would like to suggest reschedueling the drag strip to another time preferably when the weather would be a little warmer (disadvantage for the turbos) and help support the high school. As you know Lake Park High in Roselle was very thankfull to my daughter for getting all of the Cobras to come out. We made thier show a hit, I think we should support Alex and her school in the same way, and heck it was fun! Just a thought from a mindless thoughtless, breathless,hairless, vettless elliotnesswhatamessImustconfessfoooooool! |

What if we go to the drag strip on the 21st? Or all the girls who don't want to race on the 20th can drop their cars off at the high school and ride in a Sid seat with the racers to the drag strip and tear it up? Just a couple of suggestions from a guy who likes to romp on his car to keep carbon from building up on his pistons............ Can we reschedule the car show to the 21st? LETS GO RACING or showing. |
I'm the one most conflicted on this one & I'd REALLY like to make the Drag Day rain date the 21st. Not only whip up on some Chebbies, but blue cars TOO! & I'd go for b-fast, name a spot & time.

I like the idea of racing this Saturday, although the weather doesn't sound promissing. Just waite til morning, look out side and see what happens, you can never tell by what the weathermen say. Wasn't Erik supposed to have run last weekend, if so what kind of times did he turn? It was a perfect weekend last week.

Erik ran last sunday. He said he ran a 12.5. He's back at the mechanic trying to catch up with the 11 second club.
I'm with Fred. Lets see what the weather says in the morning. This weekend is better for me also. |

UNFORTUNATELY our Corvette Club cannot make the 21st as when I talked to Sid it was 13th with a rain date of the 20th 21st is our Spring Cruise. May we should shift it to June.. Many of us corvette are looking forward to racing you guys.. In talking with Sid we will be bracket acing so it will be more of a competition of Driver VS Driver.. As for me?? I have a SLOW 89 corvette ;) |
I haven't even trashed talked the Corvettes.......... yet. I got so involved in trash talking the regulars I forgot the Vettes were coming. Now I won't have to get embarrassed by all the technology and quickness you guys have.
Bummer you guys can't make it on the 21st. Mikes daughters school is having a car show on the 20th and they are looking for our support. I heard you guys have some very quick cars in your club. I was looking forward to meeting all of you. Maybe we can do a poker run or something. We were also going to take a ride to Madison Wisconsin to have lunch at the Quaker Steak and Lube, maybe we can make it a dual club event. We haven't set a date yet for this. |

Ok I think we're close to a solution - Since only 8 or so were actually going to race, if the other WCCC people, including Kim in her new car, attend the car show, we could stomp the vettes & return triumphantly to the car show before it's over (about 2:00 PM). Need to have about 10 cobras at the show, I'm sure it could happen.
We only have the June weekend of 6/17-18 & that's probably too close to the London show to risk racing even Vettes. I don't want to let those guys off the hook. Oh yeah as for bracket racing, It's a refuge for slower cars to compete. A handicap race! " You have the fastest??? no the most consistent car at the track" boy I'm impressed, Maybe I'll bring Kim's stock 302. Real men race Head to Head. Michael |
I hear the big dog howling :LOL: and I could not agree more. This is basically a street race in a safer environment. Get some NOS and turn off the traction control. That's what will make a race.
