Sid, since you are apparently back in the "Sid Seat", you should have the time to pick a rendevous location, Maybe near joliet, or somewhere near 355 & 55; a route from there, & a time so we get there about noon for our free lunch. Come on, you got the house, get movin on this.
As always Michael |
Stepping into what is looking a lot like a vacuum. I see this as two route possibilities.
1. Meet somewhere close to 355 & I55 (say the Bob Evans @ rte 53 & I-55, depart from there about 10:00 AM, south on I55 to rte 24, west into Washington. This would be the logical type route for the guys in the city & North & Norhwest suburbs. On that timeline, gets us to Washington around noon. 2. Head west on I-88 (Ronald Reagan Memorial Highway), meet at the DeKalb Oasis westbound, depart from there around 10:00AM, west to I-39, south to Rte 24 & west to Washington, arriving around noon. This is the logical route for those of us in the western region. Anybody care? Anybody still planning on going? There seem to be Sid or Sidette seats available for those who are temporarily or permanently Cobraless. Michael |

Have a great trip!
A couple of us will be on the track with NASA at Autobahn in Joliet until 'round 5:45pm both Saturday and Sunday. (Sorry not with our Cobras.) (There usually are a couple of FF Cobra racers on hand.) Drop by on the way home or come by on Sunday. There will probably be track touring available, currently scheduled at 12:55. HPDE, Time Trials, Competition School, & Wheel to wheel races (qualifying and finals) plus track touring PLUS, the first anual NASA Family Picnic. Have fun. Would love to be with you but... dm |

Guys,
I am glad everyone made it home safely from Saturday’s Washington WCCC outing although I did get sprinkled on less than a mile from my place. (It could have been a lot worse, another five minutes and I would have been a U-boat commander!) It was a fun day, with perfect weather and John Bearce a gracious host. The ride down was typical highway boring miles; but Fred, with Sid navigating, found a great route along the river with plenty of twisty single lane backcountry roads for the ride home. (There’s nothing like the sound of high performance engines when you’re sliding through the gears, tearing up some asphalt and burning rubber. Sweet!!!) Thanks to Mike, Dave and host John Bearce for their “shade tree mechanic” transmission repair/expertise, I made it home without serious incident. (I don’t know what I would have done without you guys. I owe you all big time.) Thanks again for another great WCCC outing. |
