WCCC Web Page VIRUS?
The other day (possibly Friday) I attempted to visit windycitycobra.com and my browser could'nt locate the site. Then minutes ago, again I attempted to access the site and got a security pop-up requesting to download a unknown file. Needless to say I didn't download the file. Is there some sort of virus attached to the site? Blas spoke to me the other day about recent virus issues with the site. Apparently there is still a need for caution WCCC members, so be advised..... If in fact this file is legitimate, my apologies for sounding the alarms.

Most of the members are SICK, but I don't think its a virus--more like a fever

Don't download it, it's a virus. If the html doesn't come up when you go the URL, you've got a trojan horse.Blas will get it straightened out. In the meantime, don't click on a download.

I contacted Mark T.
Hopefully he can get it taken car of.... |

The WCCC members do have a FEVER--don't get close to any of them--they are trying to start an epicdemic

WCCC Website
Hey guys,
I have no idea what happened to the club website. Blas told me it was hosed this morning and sure enough, I checked and it was. The file on the homepage in question was not a virus, just an unrecognized file format so no cause for alarm. Basically, the web server can't handle PHP extensions right now, my guess is they are having some serious problems at the data center. I never had a relationship with the hosting provider so I have a feeling we'll just take our domain name and find a different provider. Oh, if you guys want to see what I'm up against trying to fix it where it is now, just try to get support from their website: http://www.ezoshosting.com Like try calling, or clicking on the "Support" link in the upper right or the "LiveSupport" link in the footer… ...sometimes I wonder how I got named webmaster for this club?? You guys should have learned your lesson when you saw it took me 5 years to build my car!!! I guess this is what I get for not attending the key meetings at the beginning of the season :) In the end, the hosting company blows and the site was missing a few key features anyway (posting/threads and advertising) Hopefully I can salvage the photo galleries from the database and get a new site up and running in a bit at a different location, so for now, just relax, drink, pray for sun and use Club Cobra until you hear back from me and/or Blas. - Mark |
The temp site went up a few days ago:
http://www.windycitycobras.com/ Nothing special, just a place holder until I get the new BB site up and running. I am thinking about using phpBB (http://www.phpbb.com/) anyone out there have any experience with this one? In any case, I'm removing this thread from sticky status because it's annoying... - Mark |
