What's up for 7/28 & 7/29

Do we (WCCC) have any plans for the weekend? How about a Snake and Eggs run? I know next Sunday is the scheduled S&E day, but I'm hungry. Anyone have a preferred restaurant? Some place new would be good.

There is a charity car show at 2099 John Court in Glenview on Saturday the 28th. The American Legion at 121 N. Douglas Ave in Arlington Hts is hosting a car show to benefit veterans on Sunday the 29th.

got snake? 07-25-2007 10:37 AM

The Sycamore Car show is this Sunday and is one of the biggest show of the year in the area. Some of the club members have shown there in the past. I will be there if anyone wants a Snake and Eggs before hand .

I'd like to get to Sycamore too!

Just got the car together, and would love to go for a spin.Put the body on last Thursday and took it to Michigan on Friday morning.1000 miles later,no problems.
Jerry, I'm a Vet too,USN '73 to '77.Best thing I ever did for myself.

Anyone else going to Sycamore? It is a HUGE show with people arriving at 5am to get a prime spot on Main St.
A couple of years ago HOOTERS in Schaumburg had a show on the same date, after that show a few of us drove to Sycamore but it was already breaking up.

Sycamore show had over 850 cars plus hundreds of motorcycles. It was nice to see Ralph,Dale, Reed, Bob and Sten---didn't see FFR car as I was serving a penalty box violation because of Bob.
Found some articles in some old magazines from back in the day---

Yes I was behind Jerry Clayton being forced to hand out the trophies and shacking hands , Not that Jerry looked like he was in his element talking to some of the best Car Crazy people in the area.
Hats off to Cris Griswald chairman for a great event again this year. His staff plans this all year long and to fellow members you don't want to miss it next year.
Linda and Reed Chester showed up with there completely restored Falcon coupe straight from two 1st place wins At the Falcon Nationals.
Needless to say a good time was had by all.
Question of the day is will Jerry exept there offer to be the guest celebrity and officiate at next years Sycamore Car Show?

Hey Road King, like they say, "...a day late and a dollar short!"%/
You gotta wait 51 more weeks to see the "Annual Sycamore" show with almost 800 vehicles in attendance. :(

Ralph....thanks for the calendar alignment! Guess I got so excited about about an event in my hometown that I lost control of my senses, but as you know, a couple of years across the pond can hamper ones reasoning ability! I will be more attentive next summer....I promise!
