Neil,
You're a friggin' metal maniac!Way to go! Looks like you're well on your way to a real nice build. When I began putting in the panels, I got a bit ahead of myself and had to work around some of them.On my next build I'm going to fitting, but concentrate on the systems before I nail down the aluminum Way to go, Sten |
Whoah....How much $$$ did you spend on cleco's?
So you'll be done by Spring if you keep this pace up... |
Neil, I don't think you had to mention how you love cleco's! :3DSMILE: LQQKing good though. Keep it up

Sten,
I'm trying to knock out the easy but time consuming task of drilling all these holes twice, once for the aluminum panels, and the second for the frame before I call on you and the rest of the WCCC group in the summer time to help me with the more difficult parts of build. I think it will be easier for me to get all-ya'll (that there is Texas talk I learned from my wife) down to Plainfield (which is close to Kentucky for most of the folks up in the northern woods of IL) if the weather is nice and I have the grill fired up along with adult beverages. Blas, $35.00 for 100 clecos. No real money. That will be a rounding error by the time I finish this build. Spring might be tough, but hopefully a go-cart some time this year. Karl/Slow Motion Thanks guys. I've never used clecos before but now I'm hooked. What a time saver!!!!! I can't imagine screwing and unscrewing the panels even if you use a cordless drill. Clecos ROCK! Oh yeah, I marked, drilled and cleco'd the vertical rear AL panels yesterday. I'm leaving the horizontal panels alone since I wil probably be adding the ffmetal battery box and CobraEarl's cargo trunk kit. Time to work on the interior AL panels. Later, |
Wow, now I know where all the Cleko's in the free world are at. I wish I bought more, hard to believe I got by with 12. Besides Clekos the next best investment was a garage heater - nothing like building a car in the middle of winter in summer clothes despite what is going on outside. Your pictures bring back good times, enjoy the build!
