Illinois Titling Part 2

Well the NSRA is still not doing inspections. Talked with someone at secretary of state and they said no time soon do they believe things will be worked out. Took paperwork to currency exchange, got call today telling me state did not like it for whatever reason and I can pick up my checks. I am so freakin pi**ed. If you guys can be of assistance please PM me (pm might be best depending on your suggestion) and let me know what I can do. Doesnt look like I can sell to parents out of state (Indiana) with just an MSO......

Some info

Check out this info from the State of IL. I was suprised how easy it was to title my FFR. Went to my local currency exchange with all my paper work and and sales tax payments. I did not need an inspection and I was able to title as a 65 Roadster. The only problem I had was I didn't file for a title until one year after my certificate of orgin. My car was only in parts so I couldn't. I was charged some late fee of $$$$ but, I quickly paid the amount and recieved my title. This was 4 yeras ago.

Good luck!

Jim

NICKM1024, I would recommend you go to the DMV office in your area and ask them for help and bring everything you have with you , in that way you will know the WHY, and what they are looking for from you . It took me two years and 3800 dollars to get all the problems resolved .
One , is the MSO made out to you ?
Two , are you the 1st owner of the kit ?
Three, do you have any receipts for payment in full ?
Four , how long has it been scene it was sold ?
I was told because of all the Illegal actions that investigatations had uncovered < and you know who you are > of under valueing the cars for taxes, Jumping titles or MSO , forging paper work as to car history ect. and dealers selling kits out the back door and then sticking banks with MSO ,s on floor plan to cars that where long gone , meaning they did pay off the banks which is what happened in my case ,then going BK, the DMV across the nation have cracked down hard and are reviewing past transactions. The number one problem for DMV ,s is Chopper bikes and Kit cars .
If you read the threads you can see how big the problem is for the DMV,s . There is one story after another about how they got around the laws and members beat the system .

Nick,

I am not sure if I am following your post correctly, however if you have not bought yet would you like to take a look at my car? It does have a clear title.

If the MSO is made out to him , he is the only one that can get a title . They can not be transferred to anyone else and he has to pay the tax.

sorry if my post was confusing. I am building an FFR. MSO is mde out to me. Been having trouble getting it titled for about 6 months. Anyone else that has been trying to get one titled by the book the correct way knows the issues right now.
