local Ford engine builders?

This is my first post, so I'll try to make it good.
I've been to see your Cobras in Volo twice now and I'm going to buy a FFR MkIII upon retiring in the spring. I want to have an engine done over the winter so that it'll be ready when the car is at that point. I was planning on an LS1 car, but have decided to go Ford all the way. I want to do either a 302 stroker or a 351 stroker to end up with mid 400hp. I know there are places around the country to buy built engines, but I want to deal locally so that if there are any problems, they're easier to deal with.
What recommendations do you have for someone to talk to about my engine needs?
As a side note, I need to sell my racing TAG go-kart to make room on my lift to work on the Cobra. pm me if you want more info about that.

Welcome Pete!
Bartlett? TAG go KART!!! CD you wanna go in on a TAG GO KART???

Moving on to your question: I got my motor at www.mustangengines.com They are in NJ though. I have been to their shop and you can eat off their floor. Lots of people have their motors. They are designed to be very streetable and with plenty of power. They don't do any crazy set ups though. Just proven reliable engines. Got my motor in 2 weeks after making the final payment. They crate their motors VERY WELL. (Check out the video on their website.) And you get a video of the engine running to show it has been tuned. Christian is a great guy and very easy to deal with.

Welcome Pete...I would encourage you to built it yourself. Does less than $7000 for over 500 hp interest you? It's not nearly as hard a some may think.

Pete there is a number of good engine builders in the greater Chicago area . A couple that I can think of is Dixon Automotive 847-244-2235 in Gurnee , call after 4:00 . Jerry Clayton in Bartlet 630-336-9039 and Built-Rite Engine Rebuilders in Lombard 630-629-4021. All are friends and I have seen or own engines they have built.
