ERA 289" FIA #2027
Late after noon sun is hard to beat...the car is on Hoosier Street T/D's. Look great...terrific on the track and a PAIN on the street. The old "bias" type tires will hunt like crazy on anything but a smooth asphalt surface, like a race track. Stick to radials for the street IMHO. Now on M/T S/R's.

First edition of homemade dash, a second go around would be better now that we sorted out what we have to put in..

1972 Duster 340
I had just donated my beloved Duster 340 to my nephew,
he is obviously proud of his new ride (which makes it all worthwhile)
This was a true "barn find" in the mid '80s when I was in my early 20's. Unmolested hipo 340 4spd with 17k mi. Currently now has around 29k mi.
Totally stock has run a best of 14.1 and has pegged the speedo @120 and was still climbing!
Check my avatar...pretty cool

SPF 1660 "roadster"
Now this is a roller...the day she arrived from the factory. Add lights, powertrain, fluids and go for a cruise.
(actually, it still took more than a year)

Rearend cross member failure
Poor design and light metal. No abuse just simple driving. 1300 miles later and metal fatigue. I did start to hear a bit of creeking on downshifts but that all came to a halt last day on the raod last summer. Major redesign in the works now

Rear cross cross member fix
Cut out the old under engineered metal. I went with a 3x3" 3/16" square tube welded straight across the end of the frame tubes.
For the bolt i went right through the entire tube.
I think this should be much stronger now.

Changed last rear bushs and tried different rear springs, old ones sacked out. Now it bounces straight up and down instead of left, right and who knows where. Problem is the looks, more like a cat with its butt in the air. Time to order some real lowered King springs...and you thought my car was ugly before....
