FFR is an incredible company and I'm very happy with their product. I built my Roadster over 4 years (I did take some breaks) but I learned a ton. I had help with the paint and engine work but the rest I did on my own. The Roadster is simple car, if you feel comfortable doing a brake job, you should have fun building a Cobra. The build school will answer all those little questions and give you an overview of the build process.

If you are interested in building one, I keep tabs on a group of about 30 area FFR builders. We have had build parties to help guys out and move them along in their build. Great fun and great bunch of true car guys! Any question can be answered and problems solved.

Good luck with your search, give me call on my cell 518 470-6546 or email me a pwyman90@gmail.com if your are interested in seeing my build.

    Hi ICBomber90,

I live in Columbia County and have started research on "Cobra Kits". I have some questions and would appreciate your input.
I toured FFR factory yesterday and was blown away by the quality and engineering behind their chassis. Do any of the other companies even come close? Does FFR offer the best value for the money? The price difference for FFR complete kit versus all the other brands seems to be very large. Is the assembly and paint worth the $15,000 difference between FFR and Backdraft Racing? how difficult is it to register a cobra kit car in NY? Are there area cobra kit builders that you recommend? how easy, is it to build a FFR cobra kit, for a novice? I know that FFR recommends a school in Michigan that teaches you to build one. Will I need special tools, etc? how do I keep this project under $35,000 and still have a nice ride. Not looking to race on the track, just cruising and having fun.

    Thanks
