I'm older and prefer the original look of the 15 inch tires and wheels.
With that said, I have two recommendations. Make that three. Get rid of the BFG's as soon as you can. In my opinion they are dangerous on a car like the Cobra.
I now have the Avon tires on mine and they are great. In fact, if you do a search on posts started by me, you will find a thread comparing them to the Goodyear BillBoards. The Goodyear BB's are my second favorite tire after the Avons. The big difference is in the price. You can get two sets of the GY's for the price of the Avons. The only downside of the GY's is they are bias ply tires and that means they flat spot, and tend to follow ruts in the road more than the Avons.
Hope that helps.

I read your post about the sway bar set up which was helpful. It looks like you have really researched the handling possibilities for these cars. My question is….I have the 15 inch rims on the car with the BFG’s the car came with (Superformance). I have had the car on the track many times and at this point the tires appear to have maybe “burned”. They tires are hard as stones and the car is just very scary and unpredictable at speed. I am not going back on the track or even an auto cross until I have made some changes.
Do you think there is a decent tire I can get for a 15 inch rim or should I just bite the bullet and get some 17’s? What 15 inch tire would you recommend?
The car spends most of the time on the street but I go to the tract once every 6 months or so.
