you can find a different hood pin. There are folding catches which replace the hood pin sticking up through the hood. Good luck.

Good morning Kyle:
I am terribly disappointed, after ordering the handles etc I took the car to my body shop guy and informed me that he would not be able to install them, due to a previous repair done on my hood prior to my ownership.. There are a couple of stress cracks that would be exacerbated if these are installed. Pricing the hood with Painter if $365.00 + $60 shipping plus painting and installation is over a $1000.00. at this point this is an unnecessary expense and I can live without them, nevertheless disappointed. To add salt to injury Finishline is reticent to accept an over 30 days return for my wife gave me these for Xmas so I have a useless $200+ gift on my hands...Sigh
Hope all is well, thanks for listening

Good morning Kyle:
Hey my friend hope all is well, I am ready to have the food handles installed by my body shop guy( I don't want to screw this up LOL) what is the distance from the dead center of the hood to the sides where you drilled for the holes of the handles?
Thanks
Lou

The hood latch position is limited to a few factors. 1, the size of the latch foot, which should be the small size ones. 2, the corner of the engine bay edge. The latch foot cannot interfere with the 45 degree corner boss where the hood pins/hood bumpers on each side are mounted. Also, you cannot place your latch bracket "inside" that fiberglass. I measured the vertical position to place the latch foot, then marked a parallel line from the top edge, then placed the bracket(s) butted up to the 45 degrees boss. The measurement of the latch is determined by making things work to match your installed bracket(s).

Hey Lou, not a problem. Yeah I think I have pics of the install and advice too. The latch receiver is maybe 1.5 to 2" aluminum angle about 3" long. Its really important to align them with the body curve parallel. You can position the catch against it however it works for you on your firewall. I used 10/32 with vinyl lock nuts and fender washers on the back. Use oval countersinking stainless screws x 3 on each side in a triangle pattern to allow room for fender washers in the back.

Good morning Kyle:
I think you and I had this conversation before, but I am having a bit of a problem with my hood's center lock latch; twice it has moved despite being re tightened and I am concern that it will happen again while away from home. That been said, I see that one of your pictures you posted the hood latches of your car. What was your purchase source for them and how did you affixed them to the firewall? Did you used nut certs or bolted through? Are they working fine? Please forgive me perhaps for re asking this question but I erased our previous emails not thinking that I could used them as reference.
Hope all is well
