Sorry I have been away for awhile. I need to sign in more often. I guess I get enough computer time at the office. The engine I got is a Dart 427 ci short block with Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads. The engine is rated at 550 hsp if set up properly. They don't Dyno the engine after the put the top on it so we have to guess. I appreciate the advice on taking it easy and learning how the car handles with all that horsepower.

Tim, Sounds like we have a lot in common! Congratulations!! You made a great choice. Yes, I love the Backdraft Cobra, the look, the handling - all of it. Other than the slave cylinder issues I had, the only other issue I had was the trans (TKO 500) which had nothing to do with BDR (bend shift rods) and considering that the car has been raced, it has held up remarkably well. I drive it to the track and home - the way Carroll Shelby intended - so the product is solid. Be careful, if you have not driven these before they can sneek up on you with the power. Which engine/trans did you choose?

Jimbo,
I am new to all of this Cobra stuff. I just ordered a Backdraft Cobra 427. It looks like the same you color as yours. I am also a Financial Advisor for the past 18 years in Goshen IN. I saw that you are also aa FA. Are you happy with Backdraft? I hope I made the right decision....I ordered from Vintage Motorsports. I also am a Christian! Tim
