Wish I could help you but when I tried to put my top on (that came with my purchase) I ran into the same problem. Took it off and never use it now. I think we are supposed to steer with one hand, shift with the other and hold the top down with the other.

Hey Kevin. Been keeping busy. I painted it over the weekend and pulled it out of my booth yesterday! I’ll polish it out and start putting it back together. It’s getting closer every day.

Karl, Sounds like a PITA. The dull paint seems like what you would want to camouflage it. If it was bright and shiny it would be calling attention to it. I think I would use safety wire to hold it...
