    Slowy, common problem is if its a single wire sender then the body of the sender is not earthing properly on the engine/head block etc. This could be due to thread tape on the threads of the sender....

    Guye here's a tip for you. Go to Bunnings and get some of the foil type tape they have. Looks the same as your insulation. I use a similar insulation on my 40 and use the foil tape to seal the edges...
