You can certainly get the IDA's to perform well for street driving. Like the others have said, good linkage is essential. Other important factors are low fuel pressure and good fuel filters....

The 48IDA Webers were made for racing but are fully capable of being tuned for everyday use. Other than being properly tuned a well thought out linkage is a must, especially on an opposed carb system.

That would depend on what you are trying to do with the Cobra, 1964 1965 FIA team cars are black, depending on which USRRC Cobra it could have been chrome or black.

Mine is on the top of the front spring perch! You can see if you look with a flash light since the frame number was stamped " CSX7070" but then powder coated so it is not easy to see....

The Registry just says "white / red interior". NEDSEL here might know. A 260 2V car that Herbie drove all the way into the 80's. Paid a little over $5,800 for it. All according to the Registry...;)
