Hi, Alfa02 here, I know we'll talked on BaT, and here. On your BRG 427 street car, (ERA?) what did the glove box pull handle come from? I found the same one on their web site, but couldn't find a part# or price. I don't want the T-handle like Cobra Restorer sell, just a simple round one. Thanks Tom. I was going to Befriend you, that OK?

11-30-2016 07:40 AM - permalinkstrictlypersonlThe caliper brackets are done. $150 for the pair, including special low-head bolts. I just need your contact and credit card (Visa/MC) info.
Thanks,
Bob Putnam -
Thanks for the compliments. There is a rather lengthy and rambling build thread in the ERA forum. You should be able to find it under "Progress on #782). I think this link will work to my Photobucket account.

It is ERA's standard 427 body. As such the flares are not quite correct even for the wide hip street car. The street car with wide hips didn't have the slight flare around the front of the rear wheel opening - which would not have been a lot of work to have fixed but I didn't. Also the front openings have a little too much pronounced flare at the rear bottom. There is a thread running in All Cobra Talk currently where Metalmorphis is creating a narrow hip 427 street roadster and he plans to produce and sell the fender pieces to convert an ERA. That would be a nice modification to the ERA.
Thanks again. -
Not over yet. I returned to the shop regarding one of the seams on the front as I mentioned in my earlier message below. The owner/installer agreed that it needs to be replaced so we will be scheduling time to get that done. The rest of the job looks good. Still need some good hot sun to help a few minor installation marks disappear. I'm told that is normal. Only time will tell at this point.

I meant to post regarding this but didn't get to it yet. The xPEL film has no orange peel at all and is hard to see on the car. From what I understand, the 3M film has orange peel purposely to better match production car finishes. Since our cars don't have orange peel, I think the xPEL is the better choice. My rear fender spats are as close to invisible as can be. I had the doors covered entirely and there is no difference in the finish as a result. I'm no expert, but am happy with my results. That said, one of the front pieces on my car is more visible than the other at the seam. Supposedly, the bit of cloudiness will fade when it dries thoroughly. If not, I'll visit the shop to see what can be done. This has nothing to do with the file, just the installation.
