Am I too old or is it that i have too much mechanical sympathy?
There IS a difference between a tail-happy car driven by an inexperienced driver and a tail-happy car driven by someone who knows what he's doing. This footage of a MkI Jag at Goodwood is...

AP2289 Build log 'stage 2'
One job that didn't take too long to complete in the last couple of days is a tow lug for the front end. It's 50mm x 6mm section mild steel, ø25mm hole, attached to the chassis with a couple of...

Hi-Tech question for TJD
x2 ! Looks great. It's the extra details like the FIA wheels mixed with Halibrand rears that really do it (even more so!) :D Enjoy! Glen

Mike, your oil pan isn't machined from billet. How come? Seriously, this engine a work of art! Cheers, Glen

Why are the wood 6 bolt pattern steering wheel all dished
Larry's correct. The 6 bolt pattern is much larger on the flat spoke wheels on early cars. Interesting comments from Dan regarding the stress cracking. A dished wheel is inherently much stronger by...

Updates
Oh, very nice! Hard to beat a 427 roadster (unless it's an FIA, of course ). Great to see combinations like yours that really do look like the original 427 cars. Cheers, Glen

Why are the wood 6 bolt pattern steering wheel all dished
Firstly, if you do buy a good quality “flat” steering wheel – for example a Moto-Lita – you won’t have any problems. In fact, most, if not all of the Moto-Lita wheels to suit period Jaguars are flat,...

Crush washer
I don't like the single use Cu crush washers for a number of reasons. I'm using solid Cu washers or if not easily available, aluminium washers. Cheers, Glen
