07-28-2017 06:10 AM - permalinkjust dreaminHi Treeve, the ABS requirement you allude to is a good example on how you can challenge the requirement if you so desire. I used the argument that this was not a reasonable impost on icv builders as it was not required on replica street rods for registration purposes.
I kept the discussion on a simple level based on the premise that it was an unfair and therefore unreasonable. You can appeal the requirement and ask for a review and a reason for the requirement. Failing that in SA we (SA Cobra Car Club) decided to use a Judicial Review if necessary arguing unfair and unjustifiable restrictions placed on ICV builders that are not required for S R Replica builders.
This would have cost about $2500 in court costs and I would argue that we only wanted the same conditions and considerations that applied to SR builders.
It did not come to that and I am now in discussions with the SA Tpt Minister.
Any questions , comments welcome. John -
Hi Treeve, I was referred to you by Craig from pace, (I had called you before your last holiday) regarding my cobra Craig was building, he was just starting building the ICV back then, since then I have bought the engine (3uzfe Toyota 4.3 v8 2003 - 2006 not sure of year yet its with Craig in Brisbane and I am here in Sydney) just wanted to get back in touch with you again regarding any requirement's I may need for NSW registration and if you can oversee the build, let me know how I could best contact you and your services thank you
