Hi Treeve, the ABS requirement you allude to is a good example on how you can challenge the requirement if you so desire. I used the argument that this was not a reasonable impost on icv builders as it was not required on replica street rods for registration purposes.
I kept the discussion on a simple level based on the premise that it was an unfair and therefore unreasonable. You can appeal the requirement and ask for a review and a reason for the requirement. Failing that in SA we (SA Cobra Car Club) decided to use a Judicial Review if necessary arguing unfair and unjustifiable restrictions placed on ICV builders that are not required for S R Replica builders.
This would have cost about $2500 in court costs and I would argue that we only wanted the same conditions and considerations that applied to SR builders.
It did not come to that and I am now in discussions with the SA Tpt Minister.
