Another FE valve lash question
What a great question. An all-iron FE is most likely going to have an "old school" gap. I would set them COLD at .022" and then take it for a nice long drive and listen and feel how it behaves. ...

I asked Ellie to solve this math problem for you. She said that let's say he's revving at six grand with a WOT in first gear, and remembering that a cylinder only pulls in air every other rotation...

FE solid roller?
Dwight, a properly broken in solid flat tappet cam, not a roller, will still be buzzing right along long after you have passed from this earth and it will have provided you with years of fun before...

The biggest advantage of the TP on today's street driven big block cars is that it helps prevent gas percolation in your carb. Today's gasoline is crappy compared to the Sunoco 260 we had as kids.

Bad news for replicas?
There is no such thing as a global precedent. And Sweden has more bizarre laws in it than a dog has fleas. And no, Ellie does not have fleas.

Odd engine behavior after first shutdown of the day
In other words, you just take a big-ass hammer and whack the crap out of the fastener until it's so mashed up that it won't come apart by itself. Yep, done that many a time.

NEWS: New bill in US Congress would allow for turnkey replicas
Jeez, how hard is it for someone to just buy a roller, buy an engine, and have a custom garage drop one in to the other? If someone really wants one of these cars, that's half the fun. I don't...

Odd engine behavior after first shutdown of the day
I've dealt with this issue for many, many years. What has worked for me to fight percolation woes, and I fill her up with 93 octane 10% ethanol, is to 1) Use a Turkey Pan with a thick aluminum base...
