    My BD came with a metal tank. Very thin and developed pin hole leaks, I think from rocks hitting it. I tried to repair it for about 3yrs. Last year had one made, same dimensions but heaver steel....

    Had the same problem, the gasket on the sending unit was bad. replaced it, problem went away. I bought a gasket that is a rubber compound, not straight rubber or cork.
