Hey, fellow members;
I wanted to share some info regarding the use of
oil coolers on street cars.
This is done mostly for appearence, but I think there is a negative effect from having the
oil coolers;
I have talked to two different local engine builders, with experience with FE engines, about the white gunk in and around the valve covers and the
oil breather/pcv area.
They say this is due to using oil coolers, and the oil does not get hot enough to burn off the condensation.
I plan to make a polycarbonate panel for the back of the cooler to see if I can get the oil up to 220 degrees, instead of 180-190.
Do you guys agree?
Also; I was thinking of putting static cling vintage racing logos like the real race cars had.
The car has options like the race version.
Is this a mistake?
Looking foward to feedback.
