    Hello Leon,
I too have been off the site a little, I made a typo, the rears are 15 not 16.
We had a great trip to Cloudcroft, it was a blast.

Well, Leon...I figured out how to get to my messages....figured out my memory was way worse than I thought, it was not power brakes you asked about, but power steering. My replica has straight old manual rack and pinion steering, Flaming River, and no power assist, so, sorry, I can't help you with the front dress issues on the power steering pump.

Tire sizes are: 235-60 R15 front, 295-50 R15 rear. The front tires stick out of the flares ever so slightly...but the rear tires ride comfortably inside the rear fenders. Wheels are Cragar DragStars, not sure of width or backspacing. I figure I will need to go down to 275-50's on the rear when these need to be replaced, 295's are very hard to find in 50 series these days.

BTW...my rear suspension is parallel 4-bar with coilovers...if you would like photos I can get them today, will be replacing the bushings in the panhard rod today.

    Cheers!

Hi! Like David, I did not know I had visitor messages. If I can figure out how to find them again I will take the photos you mentioned...however, my replica does not have power brakes, just good old 4-wheel manual discs. They work well but take quite a bit of pedal pressure, so a bake bleed is in the works soon. I just returned from 3 months absence, started the Cobra only 15 minutes ago for the first time this year. Cranked 3 seconds and started right up, I was not even in the cabin, just standing by the door.

When I get the photos I will send Photobucket links to you via PM...hope that works!

    Cheers!

Hello Leon, I did not see the notification that I had a message, I was suprised. My car is doing great, we are planning a long trip to New Mexico in two weeks, I just put new tires on it so I know what they are, fronts BFG 255/60/r15, rear BFG 275/60/r15.
Leon you can email me at dleelewis@sbcglobal.net or call me at 432 386 6777,

I would not say it helped that much, it was a lot of work, I went with carreara which is now QA1, talked with them and they helped me with the spring size and weight. They best thing I did was install front and rear sway bars, it really helped the way the car handled. I did have to weld top shock mounts, but was able to use the bottom shock mount.

Thanks David. What size and brand of coilovers did you use and what did you do with the existing shocks and mounts? Anything I should know about the mounting process, location, modification etc., before tackling this? Is your new setup a vast improvement? I like the idea of coilovers as apposed to the existing setup. Thanks, Leon

No Leon, I changed mine to coilovers front and rear, originally mine had standard mustang coil springs, and if I jack it up they would dislocate, I also added limit straps to my rear end because I hit a bump once and the driveshaft tried to lock up because of the angle when fully extended. Hope that helps.
