If I read right you have a 4 link locating a live axle. You don't mention the TYPE of 4 link you have...I can only assume that as you now have no locating devise (Watts, Panhard, ladder etc)...

correct placement of pitot tube for oil temp

Make sure you have the sender for the oil temp gage placed correctly......

The tube on the sender should go all the way thru the adapter it is screwed into at least 1" to be well into the oil....

Smile an idea on dists for Fe's

Get a decent stock FE dist core.....one with good bushings and a good iron(if thats what ur using) gear.

Then get any pre 90 (thick film) and/ back to '74 any V8 dist with the magnetic trigger....
