Had the same problem wouldn't pull past 6K only...
Had the same problem wouldn't pull past 6K only spent a grand to find out the air cleaner to small.

I put one in to keep the wife happy didn't do real good on the heat part. I used a early dodge manual water shut off with a choke cable to it had trouble getting one that didn't leak took 3 trips...

Josh I would do a load test on the battery sounds like a dead cell after run it charged up and ok also make sure your grounds are good.

I mounted my tracks to a 1/8" pice of aluminum...
I mounted my tracks to a 1/8" pice of aluminum and the seat to it because the tracks would not line up with the seat rails and the studs in the floor.

I belive Trularin is correct if you have two fans...
I belive Trularin is correct if you have two fans run two relays (one pulls too many amps for two fans ?) just hook the sending units & the switch legs togather on the relays.

Dan had a chance to play with a sbc a few years...
Dan had a chance to play with a sbc a few years back with a torque plate could pull it out of round about .002 on a 400" with out being prepared with a torque plate but not in the case of a 350" more...

I belive the first up grade should be in the ignition department you can put in a lumpy cam big carb manifold ect but if your ignition can't fire it you are kind of spining you wheels and not going...

Lowell I don't cut on the table with the torch just use the wire feed and grind sure keeps the sparks in check. The 1 1/8" plywood is used for sub floor in homes I belive you can still get it.

I belive the SW uses a 270 Ohm guage if you can...

I put a mechanical switch on my ride a couple months ago a Sorensen #SLS62 $4.95 I found with the light cars you were all ready stopped with not enough pressure to make the pressure switch work....
