Mine only has the silver ones, maybe the PO removed the blacks ones on mine. My guess is that the silver one are probably needed to get clearance for the slider to work.

Pull the steering wheel. There should be a cancelation "stalk" threaded into the back of it. You probably need to screw it out a bit to hit both cancellation switches on the turn signal assy.

I bought stainless ones from Ebay (UK) several years ago for around $30 for the pair w/ shipping and will never go back to plastic! I imagine Finishline's are of equal quality and quicker shipping.
