well, maybe I'm dumb, but aren't our piston bottoms shaped like bowls (pretty much)? and wouldn'n oil build up in the piston bottoms over time? and if this took place wouldnt it throw the driveline...

you should just look for a set of pistons based on the diameter, my daily driver is a blazer with a 2.8 v6 and im usin v8 rods and pistons. so dont go lookin for pistons based on the engine you wanna...
