Contemporary Classic 1966 Shelby Cobra 427
titled as a '66 Shelby Cobra, VIN "CSX..."
Build was finished in 1997. I'm second owner.

4" round tubular powdercoated chassis
Jaguar XKE independent suspension.
Original cast-iron cross-bolted C9AE Ford 427FE side-oiler
4 speed Ford top-loader transmission.
engine was rebuilt, bored .015" over and stroker kit installed all less than 5k miles ago by Carroll Carter with CC Motor Sport in Manassas, VA. (harland sharp aluminum roller rockers, venolia pistons, Crower roller cam (Duration 280/288, Lift .581/.583), 428 crank, Big aluminum radiator, , high volume oil pump,Hayes aluminum flywheel, Centerforce clutch, 830 cfm Holly carb with annular booster, MSD ignition system, MSD rev indicator light)<br>
C3AE-6090D heads
The transmission was also rebuilt as well as clutch replaced at that time.

Compomotive 3 piece English 5 bolt polished aluminum wheels.New Toyo Proxes tires. Willwood front calipers with 12" rotors. Inboard discs on rear Jag setup as well. Front suspension is a torsion bar setup with Koni shocks. Bushings are looking great under the car and all feels tight going down the road.
Smith gauges, tilton hydraulics (brakes/clutch)
high-torque starter (she fires right up),
It has logged 17k miles. It was put together by a mechanical engineer whose passion was Cobras.
I just had the entire wiring throughout the car completely redone/replaced as well. It just wasn't as "clean" as I prefer.
Car is an unbelievable vehicle, gets more looks and "thumb ups" than any other car I've owned.
Paint is not show quality as you can see in the pictures. Good painter in area told me the clear coat needs wet sanded, buff, and re-cleared.
Good luck finding another Contemporary with the true and correct drive-train.
Price is 41,000. Shouldn't last long.
I will include a truck-load of extra parts and pieces that I feel should stay with the car.

PM's replied to. Would prefer to sell it here to a "Cobra person" before listing locally and nationally to other people. Car is daily driver reliable, and with 550hp, she's no slug either. I see zero other Contemporary cobras with correct drivetrain, not to mention it is all freshly rebuilt, engine by Carter in Manassas, VA. Whole car just gone through, ready to roll.

Just picked her up from the shop today! It's been 6 weeks. The wiring job looks awesome! Car is running excellent like always, and it is as reliable and safe as it has ever been now. Those that showed interest now can swing by for a visit and we can run her on the road.
