Possibly, I'm guessing the Ammeter shows a discharge at idle?
Easiest thing first, is the belt tight? Then have the Alternator tested at the parts store. If the Alternator tests OK, get a replacement regulator since your already at the parts store...
A spare regulator can be handy since it's a part a lot of stores won't have in stock anyway.
