The Government tells the business owner that you have to expend capital to manufacture your products for a " greener enviorment ". The business owner does his math and figures with increased insurance premiums and capital outlays for expensive equipment to comply, there is no profit left so he may as well have his products manufactured in China or some other country with less stringent enviormental protection laws. Those countries see a golden oportunity so they spend money to loby the U.S government for more tighter laws that will eventually put the U.S. out of the manufacturing business.
So now the person who had a manufacturing job is unemployed because his job went overseas and is told to retrain for a better job like a rocket scientist. The government says spend money to stimulate the country but they don't tell you that the money is actually stimulating the countries that are manufacturing the goods that you are going to buy with stimulus money.
How stupid are we getting in this country when we can't figure out the simple truths ?
