I'd be curious to learn just how many Ferrari, Lambo, Bugatti, et al owners have used this procedure when they have handed over suitcases of dead presidents to buy their factory built cars?
I don't even hear of the hard core 'Vette guys doing this to ZR-1s and Z06s at the local Chevy dealer either.
If I was selling ANY of these painted turn-key-minus cars new (SPF, BDR, ERA, Hurricane, etc.) and a customer whipped out a flourescent (or Xenon-bulbed detail) light prior to taking delivery, I'd hand him back his deposit and tell him to not let the door hit him in the azz on the way out.
