Go to autozone and buy a 195F thermostat, the ones for $3.95. You wont need the cardboard over your radiator anymore. The pos expensive ones (mr gasket etc) alway allow leak by even when they are closed. Go pick one up and blow through it you will be amazed. 180F is too cold also, it wont close until 170F.

I did a write up couple months ago. Another key point is if the thermostat open at 195F it wount be fully closed until 185F!! Thermostat determine minimuim operating temp not maximuim.

Keep your oil cooler blocked off.
