Politics turned especially rancid the day we gave them a credit card (deficit financing on an on-going basis). Look at the budgets of Truman (even with the Korean War), Eisenhower (read his farewell address!!!!!!), and compare them with what we have today. The number of aides of the President has ballooned to ridiculous sizes, the office of the First Lady is huge, and of course every congressman and senator has to keep up. Pelosi and the rest even want a personal airline just to cater to them and whatever junkets they can dream up. And ALL OF IT while average Americans have to keep tightening the belts and worry about having a job tomorrow. It's a damned disgrace.
