Most poll's are currently running around 50%, but it really don't mean squat. The bill will eventually pass anyway. It's just a matter of what it looks like when it does.

I would fully expect someone HERE to say that, I'd chuckle and move on. But when a "sort of" respectable author says it in an Op Ed piece, you have to take what he says more seriously. So, seriously, I don't believe he has a leg to stand on with that statement.
