Justin,
The standard reply about a chebbie or any other engine in Cobras to Coupes is it will cut the resale in half. This is spot on if you are selling it to a hard core Ford guy and we are a Ford/Cobra site so expect a few knocks and a little ribbing As it should be with all the pride and Type A personalities that build and own Cobras. With a zillion cars or Hot Rods in the world to own that shouts to the world this is my choice The Cobra is IT !!!! Many also own or have owned all the other choices out there but this is where we meet for Cobras so many are more Ford only.

That being said there are just as many hard core Chevy, Mopar or whatever builders and buyers. They don't want a mixture of body /engine cars, the price of being a true Hard Core. That still leaves groups like the Hot Rodders, Pro Street and more. In the end we all recognize, appreciate or just demand quality workmanship. There is a market for a Vette with a fire breathing FE or a MG with an early hemi and even a Cobra with a big block chebbie. If you are building for yourself and your own desires who gives a rats ass. If you have built a Cobra with an Automatic or a Chevy it is not worth half the price as others but the number of folks willing to pay a high price are half as much. Know your market.
