He didn't ask to front $5K to be on TV. They are very clear in asking for a refundable $1K up front not $5K. If you're interviewed and pass the screening, they ask for another $4K. I'm trying to be objective about this but the interviews are real. The promoters are real. The company is real. They have 85 people already interviewed. The only questionable detail of the promotion was whether they'd nailed down a spot on NBC. They haven't. To me, this would be the most difficult single component to have solidified as an event producer/coordinator. Their web site has removed references to the NBC gig. I'm going with my gut and being cautiously optimistic about it's legitimacy. I can't afford the investment but I would, if I could and BTW, Steve has offered me free passes as an attendee (not participant) to the events. You all have Steve's contact info. If you're truly interested in participating, I'd ask to speak with those that have been interviewed and already cast for the event.
