When the steering linkage angle is off enough,so that when you hit a bump the front wheels move without you moving the steering wheel,you have bump steer.It can be corrected in a couple of ways.The secret is to get the tie rod ends coming out of the rack to be parrallel with the rack, and with the car sitting on the ground.
