Though it is hard I agree that the bodies must be buried as quickly as possible. If they let disease get started there with the mess they have, no telling how many that survived may die from that. Food a person can go without for a while but water and shelter are the first two things they taught me in survival training. Of course that didn't include being in a situation lie this.
