The wedge engines are heavy - heavier than most FEs even with the usual aluminum top parts. I know they're popular and something of a horsepower bargain, and can be real torque monsters without much build-up, but their size really makes them a problem in these cars. Pushing the curb weight to the 3000 pound range starts to undo everything a Cobra is good at.
