I can help you out with the receiver, Sunfire or McIntosh. The japs got 'nuttin on Bob Carver.
The McIntosh will give at least 30yrs. service.
If you think the Japanese are immune to the same arrogance and indifference to the customer that plaged the US corps. take a good look at Japan Airways and Sony. (among others)
I've seen the problem with the defective gas pedal, it's a design problem. The concept of the friction block is wreckless and stupid. It's only purpose was for "feel", a stiffer or extra return spring would have worked better. Never, ever, ever delay throttle closure.
