I am new to this forum and cobras. I have been offered a car which has a COX5*** VIN. Can someone give me an idea of where to find some information about these cars. Someone told me only 12 were built with this VIN. What price range would be resonable for the shell only and a complete unit? How do I found out what engine it should have in it?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Short answer: AC Cars went into receivership in 1996. When purchased from the receivers in '96 the new owners had intentions to continue building the MKIV and other models. The name Cobra could no longer be used, as Ford owned it. Between 1996 & 2002 a few aluminum-bodied cars were produced that were called "427 MK III". Some as rolling chassis and some complete. After 2002 they were only rolling chassis. Twelve cars are listed from COB5001 to COB5012. The cars are identified in the SAAC World Registry

If you are in the US, I would guess there would be 'issues' in trying to import these cars.

Only a guess, but I would suspect the value range would be close to a MkIV with a similar drive train
