Well... to each his own.
That's why we have 50 states and not one. There is something for everyone.
I'm a transplant from the Midwest. I wouldn't go back for anything.
Our company has employees across the globe. During the dot-com boom, we had an initiative to bring talent from all over the world to North America to help us with projects. They went to eastern Canada, Texas, North Carolina, and California. The intention was to stay a couple of years and go home...and go home they did after 2 years, except the ones that came to California. They did everything they could to stay as long as they possibly could. Some became Americans, some had to go home after 7 years, but with deep regrets that they had to leave. They come back every year to visit.
