RE:
The improving economy.

This weeks NEW unemployment claims were 440,000. The politicians cite the fact that 440,000 people have just lost their jobs last week is a good sign. Its a good sign because the last 3 weeks NEW jobless claims were 480,000 and 487,000. So in 3 weeks ONLY 1,407,000 people lost their jobs. That's progress because a year ago that number was running about 800,000 NEW jobless claims per week. THAT'S PROGRESS????

Using this new low NEW jobless claims as the base we get 440,000 X 52 = 22,880,000. Meaning that 22.9 MILLION PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR JOBS IN THE LAST 52 WEEKS. How many have been recalled to work or found other jobs? Not many I venture. And that 22.9 million number does not jibe at all with the numbers the politicians are claiming. 7 million lost jobs and 9.7% unemployment. I think the Govt numbers are pure bullsh!t.

And I used the lowest number in a year, use the average number and the lost jobs would easily exceed 30 million, maybe 40 million. What going on????
