Montana has no sales tax. So if your plan is to avoid paying the sales tax there could possibly be an advantage to the LLC. It will cost you every year to re-register your LLC and you must have a local "agent" that represents your LLC. If you will be driving your car and residing in another state be aware that your home state will probably go after the unpaid taxes with penalties. The registration process is the same for an individual as a LLC. The reason that I know this is because I have a Montana LLC and reside in Idaho. My Cobra and Moter Home are both NOW registered in Idaho.
