I would agree that the 65 and early 66 are the most desirable. The 67 was the last one actually produced by Shelby, the 68s and later were produced by AO Smith (I think,

) at Shelby's direction. 67 was also the last year for the HiPo 289 as well, the 302 for 68 was pale in comparison, the only 68s that got CJs were the GT500KRs all the others were base 428s like 67.
So are they neat cars in their own right? Yes they are. Are they the most coveted? Not even.
BTW, my admittedly narrow view of the Eleanors is CRAP!!!! In fact, I think it's crap ripped off from a movie stylist by Shelby and given a blessing so that all of the bleating sheep could find another way to stuff Shelby's pockets!
That's all I have to say about that.
