Spring has almost sprung and I need around 24 quarts of
oil to do all the cars. I was shocked (well, not really) that Mobil 1 0W40 is at $8-$9 a quart.
I've had good experience with this
oil and grade and use it on all my cars.
My good friend Joe of Manning Imports helped me out and canvassed his wholesale
oil distributors and the best price we could get was $7.47 a quart. 3 of them recommended Lubro Moly, claiming that it has as good if not better qualities as M1 or Redline; and at a better price. They sell them in 5-Liter jugs, and it comes out to around $6.50/quart. A German-manufactured oil (marketed as Liqui Moly in Europe), it is a very popular oil amongst BMW and Porsche enthusiasts. The Mercedes stealership is married to M1 so they recommend that but say that Lubri Moly does meet their minimum specification requirements for use in all Mercedes Benz products.

Any experience or technical info about this oil out there?
Cheers!
